- The passion for Unity
The Chemin Neuf Community was founded in 1973 by members of a prayer group in Lyon. It is a Catholic community with an ecumenical vocation, and its members include Christians from a number of different denominations. It waas founded by a jesuist priest, Father Laurent Fabre.

- Together : Protestants, Orthodox, Catholics
Right from the start, brothers and sisters from several Christian denominations (Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Lutheran, Anglican and Evangelical Chuches) have been members of the Community. They choose to live, pray and evangelise together, without giving up their own identity, and remain in communion with their respective churches.

The Community has about 1500 members in 26 countries. Couples, families, priests, and celibates have chosen the adventure of community life to follow Christ, poor and humble, in order to serve the Church, the Gospel and the world.
